Tuesday Tour for September 2, 2008

by John Lauber on September 2, 2008

It’s back to school time.  Most area schools start today or tomorrow.  Well, after a few weeks where I missed the Tuesday broker tours, though I did see plenty of homes, I was able to get back out today.  After a nice Labor Day weekend of painting and moving furniture at my house, it was nice to get out and see other homes.

521 Milford Road, Downingtown, PA 19335

The first home was 521 Milford Road in Downingtown, PA 19335. Offered at $339,900, this 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home is practically around the corner from Marsh Creek State Park.  While the home may be a bit dated, it does have a nicely updated kitchen.  The rooms, while not large, are a nice size all around.  The front door has some work scheduled to be completed.   The mature plantings make this house feel hidden from the road and surrounding area.  The end of Milford road provides a parking/turn around circle with a trail to the lake. There is some minor industrial located across the street, but the landscaping helps to hide it.

564 Reeds Road, Downingtown, PA 19335

The other home is located at 564 Reeds Road and is also in Downingtown.  While the address is Reeds Road, it’s actually located down a private drive that is shared with other homes.  Located on 3.4 acres, this home is offered at $619,000 and has 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath with a large 3 car garage.  Fairly neutral throughout, this home shows great.  All the views from this home show the great outdoors, with large picture windows in most of the rooms.  While not your standard great room/kitchen the wall and door separating the two certainly doesn’t detract from the already large eat in area.  I haven’t seen a master bedroom quite so large recently, with a nice large master bathroom to match.  The other bedrooms are also a generous size.  There’s a great study facing the front of the house, as well as a large living and dining room.  The 3 car garage is also a nice size.  The full basement is unfinished, but it would not take much to make it a great entertainment area.  The landscaping is really nice with a much of the back yard being used for a vegetable garden along the house.  There are trails into the surrounding yard and woods.  Definitely a nice retreat from the hustle and bustle.   At this price, it will probably go pretty quickly.

If you’d like to see these, or you need help in your home search, feel free to contact me at 610-220-7645 or email me at john[at]johnlauber.com.  I would be happy to help.
