West Goshen Community Park

As I wrote in a prior post, one of the great things about Chester County is the diversity of the area. One of the larger parks you can go to, and take advantage of your tax dollars, is West Goshen Community Park. Sitting at the corner of Fern Hill and S. Five Points Roads, this park is nestled amongst single family homes and commercial buildings. With the exception of a pool, there are plenty of facilities here. Also, while not officially part of the park, it’s adjacent to the Ice Line Skating rink.

Located in the heart of the park is a nice amphitheater, which is home to a summer concert series and a fall movie series. The last concert for the summer is this Sunday, August 10, according to the website.

Just want to get out with the little ones, there’s a good sized playground for them to use up all their energy or play a pick up game of soccer or football on the ample open space.

While the township doesn’t run their own sports programs, several of the local organizations (East Side Little League, West Chester United Soccer, Wildfire Softball) take advantage of the various park facilities, including the baseball and softball fields. There are also tennis courts, basketball and even two volleyball courts for you to utilize, as well.

All the park events can be found on the township website, as well as rules and regulations and if you need a permit for using the facilities.

Finally, I’ll leave you with a slide show I made of all the various facilities with in the park.
