Here’s the run down of what I was saw today on my Tuesday Broker’s open tour. There were some nice homes.
The first home is in the Summit House community, 527 Summit House. Summit house is a nice older community that is perfect for the first time buyer or someone looking to downsize. There are all different sizes and styles throughout the community. This one is a 1 bedroom, 1 bath, 2 story unit. It has a nice living space and outdoor deck. The kitchen, is small, but for this unit it’s not for more than 2 people anyway. The room in the back could lose the mirrored wall, but it’s a nice little workspace. The bathroom and bedroom on the second floor are big enough and there’s a deck off up there too. Offered at $157,000, this is a great little home.
From a 1 bedroom, 1 bath we go to the other extreme with 1808 Cold Springs Dr. This 5 bedroom, 8 full and 3 half bathroom house has everything. No need to fight for the shower or toilet in the parent’s room as there’s his AND hers of each. Going into their closet (which has it’s own washer/dryer), you’ll find a set of stairs to the finished 3rd floor where there’s a sitting room/office/den for Mom and Dad. The other bedrooms are a great size and have a bathroom each. The kitchen/great room looks great with a granite counter tops, huge gas range and big vaulted ceiling. Definitely a great place for a party, and if you want to go more formal there’s a nice living room and formal dining room as well. Of course, there’s a bathroom down here too. The finished basement offers a walkout with big picture windows to the outside as well as a door. Offered at $1,350,000. It’s a new development that’s being finished, but it is a resale.
The next house is a remodel of an existing home, 15 N Garden Cir. It has the “new house” smell as the floors were refinished. That will definitely go away, but it’s a nice remodel. The kitchen is all new and looks really nice with granite counters and new appliances. The driveway is new and they regraded the backyard. The one car garage still has room as it’s nice and deep. It’s in an established neighborhood with easy access to West Chester and major roads. This home is being offered at $365,000.
The next home is 12 Buttonwood Drive in the Evian Development in Exton, PA. This is a great end unit townhome that shows very well and it backs up to open space. There is plenty of room in this 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home. There’s a nice size dining and sitting area next to the kitchen. Offered at $285,000.
The last house for today was in Downingtown on 24 Wetherburn Drive. This home is located in Wytheburn, which while close to schools, downtown Downingtown, and 2 large shopping centers (Home Depot, Wegman’s and BJ’s to name a few of the stores), I would call a “hidden gem”. You don’t know it’s there while driving down business Rt. 30, but when you get there it has a Norman Rockwell feel to it. While I’m not the listing agent, I did see this home prior to the current owner. They’ve made some nice changes, including brightening up a very dark finished basement and removing “paneling” from the one wall in the living room. It is a cape cod, with a first floor main room and another smaller bedroom. The other 2 bedrooms in this 4 bedroom, 2 bath home are upstairs. The lot is a nice, fairly level lot. There’s a nice laundry room/mud room space for a house this size, too. Offered at $275,000, it’s a nice home in a unique little development that’s close but not “on” the beaten path.
While I was driving around, I came across this guy trying to cross the road.
As you can see, he was a bit embarrassed that he got stuck in the road, so he didn’t really want his picture taken after I helped him off the road. I hope he found a safe spot in the grass.
